MICHELE CONTINI
Lombardia, ITI am part of 3Bee's 'Oasis of Biodiversity' project. You can adopt one of my hives. This project allows me to regenerate biodiversity by caring for bees using innovative technologies developed by 3Bee. Here you can choose to adopt your hive from a distance and I will take care of it using the best techniques.
My beekeeping adventure begins in April 2014. Intrigued by the passion of my great teacher Musuruana Nevio for this world unknown to me, after attending the Apilombardia course, I purchase 2 hives together with a friend of mine. We produce our first 60 kg of honey and we find ourselves wintering 5 hives, all of which brilliantly survive the winter season. We receive as a gift from Villani Angelo, a beekeeping enthusiast from Tromello in the 80s, 12 wooden hives. In the spring of 2015, we offer our availability to the fire brigade for the recovery of swarms and in less than two weeks we bring our apiary to a good 20 families. I manage to transmit my passion also to two fellow villagers, Presicci Gianni and Grimaldi Domenico who immediately collaborate in the recovery of the swarms and enter the world of beekeeping. In the 2015 season, we produce about 200 kg of linden and acacia honey. At the end of August, we own 34 hives. In the 2017 season, we start making chestnut honey by moving some hives to the hills. Overall the harvest is poor despite our 40 hives, we achieve just over 100 kg. Michela leaves beekeeping and my adventure continues together with Gianni, Domenico and Gianluca Roman. In 2018 after opening the agricultural VAT number under the exemption regime I have a little more than 40 hives; I sell nuclei and produce excellent acacia, linden, bramble, mixed flower honey, and by moving some of the hives to Val di Nizza also chestnut honey. In 2019 we find new locations and continue.. In the 2021 season I become organic!
