Francesco Paolo Bonelli

Basilicata, IT

I am part of 3Bee's 'Oasis of Biodiversity' project. You can adopt one of my hives. This project allows me to regenerate biodiversity by caring for bees using innovative technologies developed by 3Bee. Here you can choose to adopt your hive from a distance and I will take care of it using the best techniques.

My history

A young and small award-winning company in the heart of Basilicata, in the province of Matera exactly in Grassano, the honey I produce is called Crassanum to pay homage to the territory and the town I am deeply in love with. I have three small apiaries made up of a few dozen hives. Two apiaries are located within two centuries-old olive groves that I conduct according to the dictates of organic farming, and one is near a forest of Mediterranean scrub that has been in my family's possession for almost 100 years, and where tortoises live freely. The latter apiary is located not far from the San Giuliano Lake nature reserve and WWF oasis. To my great good fortune and that of my small and tireless workers, it is surrounded by woods and rivers and many organic and extensive crops. In September 2020, to my great satisfaction, as a testament to my commitment and passion for these wonderful creatures, the company was awarded two prizes in the competition three drops of gold great honeys of Italy, one drop of gold for the millefiori honey and the most prestigious of three drops of gold for clover honey, in 2021 winner of two prizes two drops of gold for the Millefiori honey and for the millefiori honey of Mediterranean woodland. Also in 2022 we were awarded two gold drops for the spring wildflower honey and one gold drop for the woodland and summer wildflower honey, and in 2023 no less than four awards, for the wildflower, clover and coriander honeys, which attest to the commitment and great biodiversity of our land.

What do you adopt

Together with the 3Bee agronomists we analyzed the best set of Plants to regenerate the soil, produce nectar and restore biodiversity to the area. Selected dozens of Italian Growers among Beekeepers and Farmers, provided them with the plants free of charge. We pay them every year for every plant they care for and grow. Adopt a plant that helps sustainable beekeeping and farming communities, produce nectar for bees and absorb Co2.
